Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar has come out with a fresh notification for the OUAT Assistant Recruitment 2026 drive. This is a great opportunity for graduates who are looking for a contractual government job in Odisha.

This update is about the recruitment of Assistants at various Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) under OUAT. In this article, we will explain everything about eligibility, salary, fees and the application process in simple language.

Latest Update

The OUAT Assistant Recruitment 2026 notice has been issued in revision to an earlier advertisement (No. 1354/UAT dated 22.01.2019), through Advertisement No. E-II-II/02/2019(Part)/10984/UAT dated 13th July 2026.

This recruitment is for filling up the post of “Assistant” on a contractual basis under various Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs) functioning under OUAT. It is one of the important assistant professor recruitment in Odisha 2026 category updates that job seekers in the state have been waiting for, even though this particular post itself is titled “Assistant.”

A total of 31 vacancies have been announced for the post of Assistant. The reservation break-up, as shared in the official notice, is given in the table below.

Eligibility and Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the OUAT Assistant Recruitment 2026 must hold a Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Candidates need to clearly mention the percentage of marks obtained, calculated to the nearest two decimals, in the application form.

If called for document verification, candidates will also have to produce a certificate from their university showing the conversion formula used for calculating percentage. This detail is important, so aspirants should keep their marksheets and conversion documents ready in advance.

Age Limit

The maximum age limit for this post is 30 years. An age relaxation of 3 years is being given as per COVID-19 guidelines, which effectively makes the upper age limit 33 years as on the last date of application.

Additional age relaxation of 5 years is available for ST/SC/SEBC and women candidates, while PWD candidates get a relaxation of 10 years, as per applicable rules. SEBC candidates must submit a valid non-creamy layer certificate for the current year.

Selection Process

Selection for OUAT Assistant Recruitment 2026 will be based purely on a written test. The written test will carry 150 marks and will be of two hours’ duration, consisting of 150 multiple-choice questions.

The paper will be divided into General English (50 marks), General Awareness (50 marks), and Quantitative Aptitude/Reasoning and Mental Ability (50 marks). The final merit list will be prepared only on the basis of written test marks, subject to qualifying the skill test.

Candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test at a 1:4 ratio based on the merit list of the written test. The skill test will check computer application and office automation skills, but it will be qualifying in nature with no marks attached to it.

Minimum qualifying marks for the written test are 50% for Unreserved candidates, 45% for SEBC candidates, and 40% for ST/SC/PWD candidates. In case of a tie in marks, preference will be given first to higher written test marks, then to the senior candidate by age, and finally to the higher percentage secured in the degree programme.

Selected candidates will be placed at Level-9 of the 7th Pay scale, with pay ranging from Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400. Under the pre-revised 6th CPC structure, this corresponds to PB-2, Pay Rs. 9,300–34,800 plus Grade Pay of Rs. 4,200.
